Restoration > 1984 Renault 4 GTL

This rather tatty Renault 4 came from a customer in Dublin. Plenty of rust but it runs and drives. It was dry stored for a number of years and it looks like children where playing on the roof by the number of dents.

Some rust on the front left of the bonnet. This can be repaired with patch panels and the dents on the main surface can be hammered out and filled.

Drivers Side. Panel between the front door and the bonnet is a mess, full of filler and rusting from the inside out, this needs to be replaced.

Drivers side foot well, picture taken from under the car. This was caused by a leaking brake master cylinder. It can be cut out and repaired with patches.

Drivers Side. Rear quarter panel is also buggered and rotting around the filler hole, it would be a false economy to repair this as the cost would exceed the price of a replacement panel.

Drivers Side. The rear sub frame mount, behind the panel in the above picture. Both sides are badly corroded , a common problem on Renault 4s. This area is has caused a lot of Renault 4s to go to the crusher.

Passenger Side. Rear door. This is the worst on the car and so mangled, it would be easier to find a good condition second hand door. The 2 doors on the drivers side are good apart from a few small dents. In fact, the drivers side rear door is the only straight panel on the whole car!
